Capturing the ambiance of Angerenstein and making it available for everyone no matter where you are.

MP.TREE is an audiosequencer tool I made to embody the spirit of Angersteinpark Arnhem. The park houses many monumantal trees and  is a quiet haven, a stark contrast with Arnhem city centre. Something that I noticed was how the trees warped the sounds surrounding them inspiring me to make a audiosequencer that used different elements of a a tree to alter the audio. It uses the leaves, trunk and roots as filter effects.

The leaves rustling in the wind create a rhytm so I made this slider control the tremolo/rhytm of the audio. The trunk dictates the reverb of the audio and the roots alter the decay of the audio as they carry the sounds underground.

This tool was then distributed along my friends, family and peers to record and alter audio with to create a collaboritve soundscape.

The tool works as follows. You can either input a pre recorded sound or record a sound live. By using the tree different sliders you can alter the rhytm, reverb and decay of the audio. When pressing record you will start to record the mixed audio and pressing export will save this snippet to your device.
