The Modern Undead is a work that covers the phenomenon known as the dead internet theory. The dead internet is when AI goes rogue after a certain amount of time when they lose all their original instructions. Often they will start conversations with other AI’s which can lock them in a infinite cycle of brainless conversations unless broken up by human intervention or having no other AI bot to activily engage with.
The work consists of four screens placed in a circle. Each screen houses an “AI” with facial recognition that is pretending to be a person and will actively engage in talks with the other AI’s that are in view. Breaking their line of sight will result in them stopping the conversation loop.
